Lawns App is a service marketplace that connects Customers and Workers for local service jobs. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and how we protect it.
1. Information We Collect
Information You Provide: When you create an account or use our app, we may collect:
- Full name
- Email address
- Profile photo
- Mailing or billing address
- Job details (title, description, budget, and any uploaded images or videos)
- Reviews and ratings
- Login via Google: If you sign in using your Google account, we may collect your name, email address, and basic profile information. This is only used to create and manage your account.
- Camera & Media Access: With your permission, we may access your device camera and photo/video library. This is used for:
- Uploading job images
- Uploading job completion proof
- Setting your profile photo
- Push Notifications: With your permission, we collect your device’s notification token to send you important updates about your jobs and account.
- Content You Post: Users may upload job descriptions, images, videos, and reviews. This content may be visible to other users on the platform.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Create and manage your account
- Allow you to post jobs and place bids
- Process payments securely
- Send you notifications about your jobs
- Improve app performance and fix issues
- Detect and prevent fraud
3. Payments & Transactions
Payment Processing: All payments are handled securely through Stripe, a trusted third-party payment provider. We do not store your credit or debit card details on our servers.
How Payments Work: Customers are required to pay before posting a job or confirming a booking. All payments are held in a secure escrow account until the job is completed and approved by both the Customer and the Worker — then the payment is released to the Worker.
Disputes & Refunds: If a Customer is not satisfied with a completed job, they can raise a dispute. Our team will review the job details, messages, and any submitted proof (photos or videos). Based on the review, the payment will either be released to the Worker or refunded to the Customer.
Fraud Prevention: We monitor transactions and account activity to prevent fraud, unauthorized use, and policy violations.
4. Account Deletion
You can delete your account anytime directly from the app using the Delete Account option. After deletion:
- Your personal profile data is removed
- Job history may be kept for legal or tax purposes
5. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under U.S. privacy laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) and others. These rights include:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Correction: Ask us to fix any incorrect information
- Deletion: Request that we delete your data (some records may be kept for legal or tax reasons)
- Portability: Request your data in a transferable format
- Opt-Out: We do not sell your personal data

6. Data Security
We take the following steps to protect your information:
- SSL/TLS encryption for all data sent through the app
- Tokenized and encrypted payment processing via Stripe
- Role-based access controls (only the right people can access your data)

However, no system is completely secure. We encourage you to use a strong password and keep your login details private.
7. Children’s Privacy
Lawns App is intended for adults only. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under the age of 18. If we discover that a minor has created an account, we will delete their data promptly.
8. Location Data
With your permission, we collect your device’s location to:
- Show nearby jobs
- Match Customers with Workers in your area
- Verify job arrival and completion
You can turn off location access at any time in your device settings.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify you by email, in-app notification, or by updating the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page.
